If rajayoga you are.looking at conjunction etc of Kendra Kona planets - yes, but consider the planet's lordship in D1 and see them in D-9. If they are forming yogas it's better than merely seeing planets and lordships from d9 itself.

I am not sure, if In-laws has anything to do with lagna lord placement although for Libra, Aries ascendants.. I think it will be wise to look at lagna-lord and 3Rd lord (father in law) and lagna - lord and 10th lord (Mother in law). If they are in 6/8, 2/12 positions, there may be a problem.

Benefics in 3Rd house makes one lazy. If they are exalted, more lazy. Debilitated / enemy sign for Venus and Jup - will do good. Ketu is better when exalted / friends house in 3Rd. Because 3Rd house is "initiative" - comfortable Benfica sitting here will not make the native fight.
