What is the Gaja yoga as per Vedic astrology?
The lord of the 9th house from the 11th house should occupy the 11th house in conjunction with the Moon, and aspected by the lord of the 11th house then this immense and powerful Gaja yoga will be formed in oneโs chart.
S/he will command cattle, elephants, and horses; in current scenario of present time, s/he will occupy lots of vehicles, and owner of huge ranch, stable, etc. S/he will be happy, prosperous and rich throughout life.
This yoga is said to operate between the ages of 20 and 29 years. Obviously, this injunction is inconsistent with the statement that the native would be happy throughout life. The 9th house from the 11th house would be the 7th house so that the lord of the 7th should occupy the 11th house from the Lagna with the Moon and be aspected by the lord of the 11th house. The native may be generally happy throughout the life but the exact period during which the yoga may hold sway would be in proportion to the strength of the various planets causing the Yoga and their Dasa and Bhukti (Antardasa) periods. The underlying idea seems to be that when Gaja Yoga is powerful, the native would always gain in his dealings with others. It is difficult to get the examples of the grand Gaja Yoga.
